Jane Bingham, a plus-sized lawyer, gets shot by a cuckolded man aiming for her boss at her law firm. Deb Dobson is a slim model and living the good life but is killed in a car crash. Deb goes to Heaven but is accidentally sent back to Earth just as Jane dies in the hospital. Deb's soul ends up in Jane's heavyset body and now Deb (with Jane's knowledge of law) must play the role of the lawyer. She finds herself conflicted between her superficial past and her new responsibility ridden life. To make matters more difficult, Deb's grieving boyfriend, Grayson Kent, is now working at the same law firm. Deb's Guardian Angel, named Fred, watches over her but only he and Deb's friend, Stacy, know who Jane really is on the inside.

Jane/Deb takes on an interesting case of a woman who feels she was switched at birth as her mom hopes to straighten out some of these issues and figure out why the client was led to believe she was switched at birth. Parker is about to go back in the court room again for the first as a lawyer for one of his oldest friends but before doing so he will need help in not being so nervous.

Jane/Deb is star-struck when she gets to save Deb's favorite fashion model from a tumble with the law, but soon discovers her idol is in more trouble than she thought. Meanwhile, Grayson and Kim take on a pro-bono case where a woman refuses to sell her house to developers because it holds too many memories of her deceased husband.
13 "Grayson's Anatomy" October 11, 2009 (2009-10-11) 113
Everyone at the firm is up in arms when they anticipate Parker is going to make an announcement of the newest partner. Jane/Deb finally makes the decision to move on with her life and forget about Grayson when she learns he has been dreaming about her. Jane/Deb also gets an unexpected visit from Jane's supposed husband, whose sudden appearance throws her for a loop.
